As part of the new bowl cycle, C-USA will annually send teams to the Bahamas Bowl against a Mid-American Conference opponent, and to the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, against a Sun Belt Conference school. The league has participated in all six Bahamas Bowls and has placed a team in the New Orleans Bowl 14 times in its first 18 years.

As previously announced, the league will continue its relationship with the Independence Bowl. C-USA is guaranteed to send a team to the Shreveport, Louisiana-based bowl in 2021 and 2025, while holding a secondary agreement with the bowl in the other years of the cycle.

C-USA will also continue its long-standing relationship with the Hawai’i Bowl. The league is set to participate in the Honolulu-based game in 2020, 2022 and 2024.

The conference’s remaining guaranteed selections in the cycle (either 4 or 5 per season) will include the LendingTree Bowl (Mobile, Alabama) and the following games which are owned and operated by ESPN Events:

Yeah, and if Bama complained about coming to Shreveport, wait'll Stanford comes.

Stanford is to good to have to come here. We will get Colorado or USC. I also think they have to much class to say anything derogatory in the open. I spent 3 months with a couple of football players who had graduated and were working for an investment group looking at buying our company and they were too notch people . And they were both linemen .

Last year Pac 12 would not have been able to fill the slot since their teams don't go bowling at 5-7.

Roy Lang was on Fox's show on Tuesday afternoon. He said, as of then, the possible Pac 12 tie-in was still very much up in the air. Only Brett McMurphy was reporting it. He also said the Indy Bowl leadership was very worried about this year's game. If the 2019 I Bowl isn't an all P5 matchup, Walk-On's has an out in their contract that allows them to walk away from it.

The Indy Bowl could be looking for a new title sponsor as soon as January.

....well, you have to remember, there were so many bowls wanting Ohio that year, the Indy bowl was afraid of missing out on a good thing. :laugh:

Maybe they can get the MAC and the MWC to commit.

So Roy Lang was correct a month ago. The Pac 12 tie in is not a done deal. If they were to lose both P5 tie ins and their title sponsor after this year's game, I'm wondering what happens to the game moving forward. They may have no choice but the sell to ESPN Events on the condition the "Independence" name is always a part of the game.

ESPN Events could really force the Indy Bowl's hand. Because they have so much control over the G5 leagues from a bowl perspective they could freeze the Indy Bowl out if they really wanted to.
