Is is still open? I am used to the Q-Stick days, trying to get a feel of the place as it stands now. I heard it was just a beer joint, but its open early in the morning. Discuss!

Apparently the place to be at night this summer is San Miguel's. But, yes, 3docs is open. Fantastic selection of beer.
Is the giant LSU Tiger eye still on the wall?
Haha I get red for suggesting San Mig's? It's actually known as El Toro now. I'm glad another establishment has opened to the night life.
Cactus Jack's was awesome. It's been going downhill since then.
3docs>EL TORO
yep it still has that huge tiger eye on the wall. San Migs has become more popular due to their drink specials and such. Good marketing on their part, catering to what students want.
Tiger eye aside, 3 Docs draft beer selection is unequal anywhere around here.
Tiger eye was there when 3docs purchased it.
El Toro is hot and smells terrible. think I would stick with 3docs.
There is also a HUGE Louisiana Tech emblem on another wall (much bigger than eye of the Tiger) also Saints stuff, so now are the Cowboy fans going to get mad?
Well, you must have missed it or been too intoxicated, because it was there. But to each his own, I just like 3docs better if you prefer El Toro then thats great too.
I see 3docs has painted their walls (no more Tiger eye) and got brand new barstools and stuff Looks nice. Excited about the Frank Foster concert Friday night.
Thanks for the compliments, it's hard keeping things looking nice in a bar, lol...kids get a little rowdy. ElTorro was shut down for the last couple of weeks, heard it was a fire marshal issue as it occurred at night but who knows. The best drink special you can have is serving underage kids, which we have refused to do and it has cost us with the under 18 - 20 crowd. Bar business is a hard business...good thing it has booz up there, haha!
We occasionally serve things that can be heated up and not "cooked" like hot dogs and chilli dogs and are going to make that a consistent thing. But to have a kitchen in that building would be a major undertaking and a lot of $$, so even though we keep that idea in the back of our heads, it would be really difficult to make it a profitable reality.
