Re: El Dorado (AR) Football
To the best of my memory, we haven't ever done much in the way of bringing in El Dorado athletes. That's crazy, since it is so close.
Re: El Dorado (AR) Football
I didn't realize they'd put field turf in at Memorial Stadium in ElDo...when did they do that?
Re: El Dorado (AR) Football

Hard to believe Lake Hamilton plays in a larger division than my Hot Springs High School. Go HSHS!

Some of the current classifications seem weird to me, too.

This is how I see it for Arkansas football classification.
7A (BCS)
6A (non-AQ)
5A (FCS)
4A and below (D-II and D-III)

When I was growing up way back when in the 1960s the top league was called the Big 9: LR Central, LR Hall, Hot Springs, El Dorado, Jonesboro, North Little Rock, Pine Bluff, Fort Smith Northside, Texarkana.
Re: El Dorado (AR) Football
Interesting. One more class than Louisiana. Approximately 16 in 7A and 6A. Does everbody make the playoffs in the top two classes?

Pretty much, the top 12 gets in. If you finish 1-4, you get a bye on the first round.
There is a big difference in enrollment of 7A and 6A. Yes they could combine them, but schools like Conway is huge vs El Dorado.
