At 18-11 in C-USA, No. 41 in the RPI and 7-3 against the top 50, the Bulldogs can breathe easy. They’ve earned their way in.

Its just one opinion, but that is a pretty good one.

Certainly hope so!
It's hard for anyone to make a case against us. How can you have a 7-3 record against the top 50 and not get into a field of 64?
if we lose today (last game vs rice on 05-21-16) and go 0 for 2 at C USA tournament, I could see us on the outside looking in. otherwise, I do think we are in.
That's what they say, but I'm greedy--I want more wins, just to be sure! :D
As best I remember, the auto bid goes to the tournament winner in most conferences. However, I know that the Ivy League regular season champion gets the auto bid since they don't have a tournament. There may be other conferences where the auto bid goes to the regular season champion.
I want our guys to win the tournament. Our guys are playing well enough right now to win the tournament and the auto bid.
It would be my preference to win the tournament too!
I agree. Win and there is no doubt! Amazing thing is that 7 of the teams in the CUSA tourney have top 100 (actually top 86) RPI's, so there is not a huge hit to the RPI if we don't win. The sweep of Rice is HUGE in the selection committee's mind, and a definite strong finish to the season. No matter what happens, I think we're in. And that is only because of the conference we are in.
Tournament shouldn't matter now other than a possible better seed.
I think the Dawgs have already done enough to get an at-large berth. But, we all know how flaky committees can be. They will try to place as many so-called Power 5 teams in as they can. Won't matter if we have a better resume' either. So! we need to win at least twice next week. Have to make some noise and rack up a couple more Top 50 wins.
Of course, winning the auto-bid works too! :D
For the NCAA tournament experts, is there any specific advantage of getting a 2 seed over a 3 region in these local regionals? 2 plays 3 in the first round anyway.
