Guards are stepping up BIG!
Take a look at the stats for each guard from the last 3 games.
Jasmine Bendolph has been amazing and looks much more confident!
13 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 turnover, 5 steals, 7-8 free throws at Boise State
21 points, 7 rebounds, 8-8 free throws vs. Fresno State
17 points, 5 assists, 0 turnovers, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block vs. New Mexico State
Tarkeisha Wysinger-Mackey has greatly improved her free throw shot and plays with tremendous hustle, especially on defense!
19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 8-11 free throws at Boise State
21 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 6-10 free throws vs. Fresno State
14 points, 6 rebounds, 7-8 free throws, 4 assists, 1 block, 1 steal vs. New Mexico State

Wow. This group is really maturing as players. The points and rebounds are nice, but the assists and the lack of turnovers are HUGE.

The Dawgs are averaging 8.4 assists per game in WAC play...
The Techsters are averaging 14.7 assists per game in WAC play... 6.3 more assists per game than the men...

These Lady Techsters are getting better because they are receiving some FANTASTIC coaching.
Which begs the question.....do these kids even realize how fortunate they are to be coached by T-Spoon? Did they even KNOW who T-Spoon was when she joined the program? In other words......do they "get it"???

I would imagine that they do. We have done a much better job in the last few years about making sure our new students know about our great past in athletics. Also, I am sure that TSpoon has busted out plenty of those, "When I was where you are............"

Almost any girl the age of college that is serious about WBB knows very well who Spoon is. One of the most recognizable names in WBB history.

Guard play has dramatically improved the second half of this season. Guess that's why we are winning. Last year, the previous season, and early this year, the BEST thing you could say was our guard play was "inconsistent" "streaky", the worst you could say: it absolutely sucked!!!!
This is still NOT a good group of guards. Not by national Top 15 standards, it is not. It's good enough...and they are playing much better....by WAC standards. But, that is not the measuring stick I ever want to use for the Techsters.
It is, what it is. For now, I wanna see both a regular season and tourney WAC championship and a frickin' 1st Round win in the Dance!!!! I'll worry about the 2nd Round after the 1st is done...

All they stated was a death in her family - no details. Since she was in S. Louisiana and she is from Monroe, it must have been a relative - not parents.

I also herd Malcolm say that Whittney had another year of eligibility??
I know she has played for 4 years after sitting out her transffer year.. can some one explain this one?

For one of those full years, she had an injury and I think we are appealing the year, because she didn't play enough to qualify.
