Can anyone share some info on the Alabama Trio.?
The only one still playing this year is Kiara Young. Her team, Lauderdale county is in the final four. She is scoring 25 points per game. Her team is expected to go to the championship game.

I was able to find this bit of info on line from an AAU coach in the area:
Jasmine Bendolph, Davidson, 5-6
Nikki Teasley type who can take over at both ends
DeAngela Sword, Carver, 5-8
Very athletic, dominant multi-position player
Based on a little research I did, it appears all three of our recruits were the only offense their teams had. Two of the teams lost early in the playoffs despite good performances from the Tech recruits.
Lauderdale county lost by two in their semifinal game.
Below is a quote from the Birmingham News:
"Lauderdale County's Kiara Young was at the free throw line with 00.6 seconds left. She needed to hit both free throws for her team to tie Geneva in Tuesday's Class 3A girls semifinal. she missed the first unintentionally, the second intentionally, but the Tigers didn't get the rebound and her team lost. Despite the outcome, Young shouldn't beat up on herself. After all, she had 33 of her team's 52 points and a steal on an inbounds pass that put her team in position to win."
She was 6 of 10 on free throws with one being an intentional miss.
One additional item, the News had a picture of a broken hearted Kiara on the back page of the sports sections. She was being comforted by her coach.
You have to think that a player who was that upset after not making a free throw, when she accounted for 63% of her team's points, is a team player and a competitor. I am looking forward to seeing her as a Lady Techster.
