C-USA Bowl Eligibility Watch
Re: C-USA Bowl Eligibility Watch
CUSA has 7 primary and 2 secondary bowls - to get maximum amount of teams, here's how we need the final few weeks to play out.
10 eligible teams with Tech hosting the C-USA Championship (probably be better to play on the road).

Re: C-USA Bowl Eligibility Watch
Southern Miss would still have the possibility of a waiver for a bowl game at 5-6 due to its postponement.
Right now only 73 of the needed 78 teams are projected to finish 6-6 or better, so the waiver chance is real.

We may need that waiver. The rest of our schedule is going to be tough. Even UTEP will be a difficult game now with the way they are playing.
Re: C-USA Bowl Eligibility Watch
Pretty stunning how far and fast WKU has fallen in the conference.

Don't feel sorry for WKU. They are going to kick everyone's butt in basketball.

Tells you in college how important a good coach is.
Re: C-USA Bowl Eligibility Watch
Currently 4 eligible & 4 eliminated. 6 teams are still alive.
Marshall & Middle highly likely to get eligible (1 win away)
Charlotte is 2 wins away but has a tough remaining schedule.
I don’t forsee the other teams getting 3 wins in 4 weeks with their schedules.
FAU has to play @FIU & @UNT
USM still has home games with Marshall & Tech & @UAB
UTSA has a ridiculously tough last 4 games

Re: C-USA Bowl Eligibility Watch
Think Cusa realistically ends up with 6 bowl eligible, 7 with a USM waiver.
Re: C-USA Bowl Eligibility Watch
Next week - Go Roadrunners!
Week After - Go Eagles!
Last weekend - Go Blue Raiders!
All those sentences just made my stomach upset

Re: C-USA Bowl Eligibility Watch
So really...CUSA doesn't have a designated bowl for its champion. I guess most conferences have gotten away from that, what with all the changes and the advent of the 4-team playoffs. There's also the New Year's 6, the Access Bowls. I would hope whatever conference we are in, CUSA now, would have that one bowl every team wants to play in. Our champion...unless our champion gets an Access Bowl bid (yeah, right)...would automatically go there. It would add to it if the opponent was a P5...preferably the SEC.
But much like other things "CUSA" the bowl situation sucks too. Our champion has usually gotten a worst bowl than other CUSA teams. Would UAB, 9-0 in the conference, and 11-2 overall, assuming a loss at aTm, be satisfied playing in the N.O. Bowl? If the opponent was the Belch champion, Troy, Ga. Southern, or Appy State, maybe it would be worthwhile. But given how rare going 11-2 is, one would hope to be better rewarded. But, is that even possible? Hate to say it, but if the opponent is the ACC/SEC the Indy Bowl is more attractive, and the HoD Bowl vs. the Big 10 would be next on the list.
Re: C-USA Bowl Eligibility Watch
That’s the problem with being do spread out- eastern teams would probably prefer to play on East Coast & Western teams would prefer Dallas or New Orleans

Yeah it CUSA bowl situation is hard to figure out. Even the experts pick us and some of our conference mates all over the place in different games. Plus most predict not enough eligible teams so some schools will get moved up to better games. Maybe we will get to play in a totally different game this season.
