Well at least they were until we signed them.

Jacob Barnes (the last name should sound familiar to you) just became LA Tech's 3rd football commitment for 2019.

I think he really is COMMITTED. I love the way he all capped the word as in to say, he knows what committed means and that there is no such thing as "decommitting"
I also like that is a punter. Saving a scholarship or three would be nice. Our HC likes to overstock on special teams players he never uses.

I've never understood the thought process of some coaches and fans who believe you can only use one scholarship on a kicker and punter. Most teams have 4-5 QBs on scholarship, and only one of them plays. They'll have a dozen WRs on scholarship and only play half of those. Some of them will never play, either choosing to transfer elsewhere or end their careers. Why is it acceptable to miss on those players but not acceptable to miss on a special teams player? Sometimes, you miss in recruiting. They're not all going to be Josh Scobees or Jonathan Barneses. And when you miss, you have to go out and get another one.
Re: Recruiting Class of 2019
It's a lot easier to sign good walkon K/Ps than good walkon QBs & WRs.

When does our coach allow the extra kicking 'ships to try out? Not in games. Not in practice. When? Maybe he allows his S&C guy to evaluate them in the weight room.

Which K/P didn’t get a chance last season?

Who said last season? He hasn't been able to figure out a punter since he has been here. 30 yd punts when we need a 40 and 45 when we need a 30. He sucks at picking punters and has since he has been here for the last 5 years. What you got to rebut?
