Tech will be guaranteed $1.1 million for its 2021 visit to N.C. State, a fair market value meeting before the teams begin a home-and-home series 2024 and 2025. To make room for that road game, Louisiana Tech athletic director Tommy McClelland told the News-Star Monday that the moved the 2021 home date with Baylor to Week 3 of the 2023 season.

Not sure if we put out a release, but here is News Star article https://www.thenewsstar.com/story/sp...es/1055320001/
Re: Payouts from future P-5s
Diaz and our AD can't get their stories straight.

Not at all -- he knows exactly what he's doing.
(It's just not in Tech's interest.)

A couple of things I did pick up from the article.
-We knew the Baylor 2-1 was an away, away, home deal. What we did not know is that the 2nd game was originally scheduled for 2021, but our AD moved it to the final game in 2023. He continues to do favors for P5s and we get the short end of the deal. Baylor will likely buy out game 3 for an amount our AD will not want to disclose.
-Did we announce the deal with NC State? Diaz is saying that we are getting $1.1 Million to play there, but they also show for us as a road game in 2024 and home game in 2025.
-Finally, did we announce at Clemson in 2022? Our AD settled for $1.1M. Looks like another P5 favor. In 2015 they set the deal to play Ga Southern this year for $1.1M.
We have to be the lowest paid G5 in the nation.

Actually we already did know everything that was in that article including the moved Baylor game, NC State deal, and Clemson deal. All were previously announced/reported.
It was all recycled stuff because Diaz is clueless and has no idea what to write about this football team.
And Tech's win over LSU was in 1904, not 1906 as Diaz wrote.

Because you were there, and know for sure? Is that what the "06" stands for in your nickname? :icon_roll:

True. And Tech's 8-point loss to LA State in 2009 was the closest LA Tech has come to winning since that 1904 win in Ruston. With a decent game plan that includes something other than simply trying to stay healthy, and a little luck, Tech could win this year.

To make room? If we kept Baylor at home instead of an FCS game, we'd have Baylor and SMU at home, MSU and NCST on the road. Pretty tough, sure. And not as manageable as it would be with an FCS home game instead of Baylor at home. But, I mean - those 4 teams would be more in line with our 2001 schedule than the 2002 schedule.
