Re: Konkol, Stoehr get 1-year contract extensions
Saban got a 4-year deal with an extension built in. That's all that was allowed under state law at the time. It has since been changed, but took the state legislature to change it. Most coaches in the state operate on one-year contracts...with a promised extension. Actually, most state employees operate on one-year contracts.

Not hardly.
See.....I even knew before your response that you had no sources to back your claim. Never mind that I provided 3 written, verified, reported, sources that refuted your position.

Even so, why couldn't we just give her that? Roll your eyes and put it in the contract. Not a sticking point.

All of this is irrelevant anyway. Pigtails didn't want to be here. She needed a convenient excuse to get out of here with her not appearing to be the bad guy. So, she asked for something DR could NOT give her: a five-year contract. Her rationale being she had 15 years in the state retirement system and wanted to guarantee she would reach 20 years of service, so she would "lock in" her retirement. That is just more pigtails' BS because now she still has her 15 years of service and is eligible to draw state retirement when she turns 60.
Of course the pigtails apologists, in their ignorant bliss, just continue to bash DR and blame him, but NO WAY was she staying. Had she been offered a 10-year contract, she just would've found another excuse.
And none of this matters either....except to set the record straight. Because we have an alum, a former Techster, as our coach who is thrilled to be here!

Dang HD, you couldn't make it as a journalist today at CNN, MSNBC, CBS ABC, NBC, Gannett or the DNC. ;)
