I agree. The PC nightmare would follow and haunt our entire athletic department for years. I don’t think we should ever play them either, but it is on our AD to make phone calls and create a good schedule. Why would he do that when a phone call to any SWAC school will be answered before the first ring is done?

Do they cancel on SWAC teams that share the same Walmart, elected officials, and university system?
I see what your getting at with RPI. But while cancelling on GSU might look good to the CWS committee, it could be perceived very badly by more local decision-makers. I think the long-term costs (bad blood) outweigh the short term benefits (RPI).
Re: Tech must cancel Grambling game
For the future, play them only once a year, and at our place...

Which is why Grambling must be shut down, so that we can avoid these problems in future, and show our committment to quality of higher education and rooting out deep corruption in our institutions.
Whoa. Think I had a stroke there and forgot this was in Louisiana.

It would only be perceived badly if GSU disagreed with the decision. What would it take to make up the paid gate? $2,000? $3,000? A small price to pay for 5 to 7 - or more - spots in the final RPI.

It looks like the chance of rain for tomorrow afternoon and evening is now up to 60%. And it's not as if other schools in this situation haven't made this decision and moved on:

Completely agree with you. It could easily be the difference between an RPI in the mid to high 40s at season's end vs. the mid to high 50s. We could end up being ranked in the Top 25 by several publications going into the selection show but left out of the field.

If Grambling's field is what I saw on the television (Ive never been), then they need to cancel if its raining.

Haynesville High has a district game against Lincoln Prep tonight - I'll get an up close look at it
