This argument doesn't make any sense to me. What practice would JMar miss if he played baseball? These guys are in the weight room, and they hopefully are working on their games and staying in shape, but it's the offseason. There aren't any practices outside of the 15 spring practices. JMar made all of those last year, and I assume he will make all 15 of them this year. I'm positive that's the deal for allowing him to play baseball.

How about getting some chemistry with his receivers in the off season. I believe many QBs and receivers do this on their own. To me it was obvious that there was not a lot of chemistry this last year. I think Smith can be a really good QB if that chemistry is developed. I have felt he had the potential last season but just lacked that extra connection when the game started.

Re: Wonder What Amik is Doing Now?
Let's just hope we get to watch him for all 4 years at Da Joe vs. a jump to the NFL.

If after his junior year he’s ready I want him to go. Our DB recruiting on paper looks outstanding.

Lack of chemistry did not make him an average QB (at best).

Re: Wonder What Amik is Doing Now?
He had his knee scoped and cleaned out about two weeks ago...
Will be interested in seeing if he is ready for spring balll
Re: Wonder What Amik is Doing Now?
J'mar not Amik had the knee worked on
Re: Wonder What Amik is Doing Now?
Could explain why he looked timid when scrambling
Re: Wonder What Amik is Doing Now?
I think J'mar showed a lot of heart in the bowl game. How many QB's got a personal foul for roughness last year???? (I didn't agree with the call btw). He has the talent to be a good QB, just needs more confidence (from himself and Holtz). Next year might be pretty good if it all comes together. Wish we had a badass RB though....

RB by committee. I hate to say it but holtz’s love and dedication to craft bottlenecked this whole backfield. We have guys that can run the football. The way the o line is shaping up, I think we ride the hot hand every game and run it well this year.

not sure I have ever disagreed with you-- going back to Bradshaw /Spinks-Liberto Duron and his crew-- Tim Rattay and Troy --list goes on. These guys would go out and work on timing during off season. many of us would like to see JMar work with the receivers ( and maybe RB) as much as possible during offseason -- it was tough watching receivers and QB last year. Hours spent working on routes during off time would really help -- that said-Keith Thibadeau had a great year his Junior year doing both but left for baseball for senior year ( we were in I Bowl with him -- )

I have posted this before-- Boston carried the ball twice as much as Craft and about as many passes-- both players played injured quite a bit so be carefull when you do not know what is behind the curtain . how many times did we see Kenneth playing hurt over his career -- great teams have dual threat --going back to Packers-Steelers- fastforward to this years Saints -- 12-14 games a year can really hurt a RB as year progresses --
