Re: What are you listening to Today?
The new Janelle Monáe album is really solid. Prince worked on some of the material with her and various tracks feature the work of Brian Wilson, Grimes, Pharrell, Stevie Wonder and others. It is worth a listen, except for those of you that wear your conservatism too tightly to enjoy art that expresses non-conservative ideas.
Most proggy song on the album (feels like it might be a little inspired by Steven Wilson to me) :

IMHO one of the best blues songs ever. I can't claim the find as Stinkfist of USM on the CUSA board introduced me to this song.

Has added meaning too. Been reflecting on my high school days (in light of this political mess) and recalled when a girlfriend, Karen, was singing along with this song on the radio and I suddenly realized she was aiming the chorus at me. Scared me to death!

Gawd! love the Spinners music. Remember when they came to Tech, great concert. Took a girl named Pam to that one. Great memories!

Have any of you heard Gretta Van Fleet? I thought it was quite hilarious that they said Led Zepplin was not their biggest influence. Even Robert Plant wondered when he recorded the song when he heard theirs on the radio.
