I've had New Balance probably as much as Asics. Also had a pair of Brooks when I was trying to get into running. They weren't crazy but it's the only time I went shopping for a particular brand.

We have been shopping at those stores that fix you with shoes based on very individualized fitting. Spend a little more, but the shoes last longer and fit better.

Asics are bad about wearing through at the big toe way before the sole wears out. I happened to me on two pair. I tried Brooks and they are just as bad. Must be the way I wear them. Brooks actually sent me a new pair when I sent them an email, but I don't think I'll ask for another pair. Think I'll try something else.
'05, I got fitted at Fleet Feet in Monroe.

My shoes have a tendency to get really dirty before they fall apart. I have tried washing them but they are never the same for me once I wash them. I just get a new pair every few years. The only pair of shoes I have had that I really didn't like were some that I bought from Walmart. I wasn't going to but my wife convinced me that even if they fell apart they would be worth the 10-15$ I spent on them. They fell apart pretty quick.

That’s where we went as well. Has worked out well for us so far. The New Balance pair I bought have lasted longer than any I have ever bought.

For shoes I almost always end up buying Asics for some reason. I refuse to pay more than about $80 for a pair of running shoes.
I think young people are more influenced by the aesthetic of a particular style/brand rather than what the brand stands for. The exception might be particular styles within a brand that are promoted by an athlete.

I can say that in Texas people just don't give a smit anymore. Of course that could be Da Girls fault as well but still.
Ratings way down for NFL opener
"Are there extenuating circumstances? Sure. Kickoff was delayed by almost an hour because of thunderstorms in Philadelphia, and the game was a sloppy, penalty-filled mess.
But there are only so many times that the NFL can spin its ratings decline as being the result of extenuating circumstances. Whatever the reasons, the league’s television ratings are not the juggernaut they once were."
