Newest possible investment...

Just want and opinion of some bbb'ers, I was tossing arround the idea in my head (man there's alot of wide open room in there :D) and I was thinking of the charity/cause silicone wristbands. What do yall think of the Blue possibly doing some? It's all going to depend on Price and other such things, but if we could and had no limitations whatsoever, do yall think it would be a good idea? And what are some possible one or two word slogans that could accompany the ingraved "theBlue" on the other side?

(This has only been discussed between me and... well me. So don't be offended if your in the Blue and havent heard anything about this.)

Paying for the ones we buy! lol. They're pretty expensive... (although I have found what seems to be the best price available) for just being a dumb little rubber thing.. too bad I’m sucked into wearing them. Profit, if we decide to sell them instead of give them away, buying other things for theBlue. Tailgating tent for a student area, more shirts, sponsor some trips to Random Blue members to some away games, attain certain (at this time unmentionable items) to raffle off, invest in new ideas... who knows. Right now the problem is not having large sums of money, I'm totally confident that theBlue will find totally legit ways of using any capitol in accordance with state regulations for a non-profit organization. In short, I don't know, but something useful and legit, if we end up selling them and not giving them away.

If we sell them they can go towards sponsoring a tigger burn. Giving them out at orientation would have been a good idea but it is a little late for that.

If you want one now, you can go by the SGA office. They have those blue rubber bracelets that say Louisiana Tech on them along with the T-state logo. They are $3, and the profit goes toward the Memorial Scholarship fund.

see i never buy those things . . . i have small wrists and they just fall out my hands but i think that would be a great idea

They make them in kid sizes. You can buy the kid size ones through SGA. :icon_wink

FWIW guys, we (kappa sig) placed a large order for customized livestrong bands for rush last year, and they turned out great. They really work well; I'd recommend looking into it as a viral advertising tool.

we need to get something to do for fundraising even if we gotta sell krispy kreme hahah!!! sorry i saw the box this morning at work!

Ya'll wouldn't be the only ones that have done it. Softball sold some a year or so ago to raise money. I would try something a litle more unique, no on will know your rubber band says theBlue unless they hold i in their hand.

While it would be a good idea, I agree with firedog...it's not unique. Not that I have a better suggestion at this present time...but i'll def be thinking about it!

If you are looking to do a fundraiser, you can look into this. http://www.celebritytheatres.com/groupsR.html Sell tickets to a movie of your choice at the new theater as a fundraiser. It's an option and being new to ruston ya'll might make a killing if you do it soon, before the new wears off.

OK so I'm not really in the Blue but I'm gonna give my opinion anyways because that's what I do! The bracelets are a cool idea but have been done to the extreme by every charity/organization around and people are getting tired of them...however there are lots of other fundraising ideas out there and people just need to start using their brains...I'll try to think of some that I think would be fun and unique but I know one off the top of my head is a car wash...NO! Not a usual car wash...A FREE car wash...We did one for my church choir once and raised a ton of money to go on tour...You get donations before the car wash (either a flat amount or a per car amount) then make signs saying free car wash...keep a running total of the cars you wash then collect your money! I'll think of more later if ya'll want some help!

Ok "original" northshore dawg let me just say im sorry for back in the day stealing the name northshore dawg. I'm from Mandeville and didnt see another northshore dawg signed up. I have since changed the name so im sure you can just go back to northshore dawg and not the "original" one!:icon_wink
