http://www.wnd.com/files/2015/11/un-...erence-600.jpgThe American Center for Law and Justice, an organization that works on behalf of persecuted Christians both in the United States and overseas, has scolded the United Nations Human Rights Council for ignoring the plight of Christians in Iraq and Syria.
In a statement it released following its presentation to the UNHRC, the organization warned that ISIS is carrying out genocide against Christians and other minorities.
“Through our affiliate, the European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ), we made an oral intervention before the United Nations Human Rights Council on behalf of Christians facing genocide in the Middle East,” the organization said.
“We gave our most detailed account yet of the atrocities carried out by ISIS against Christians and other religious and ethnic minorities. ”
Sign the petition to encourage President-elect Donald J. Trump and the Republican Congress to use all available means to encourage allies of the United States and Israel to withdraw from the United Nations and withhold all funding and official recognition from that organization.
It told the council:The actions of ISIS against Christians and other religious minorities in Iraq and Syria clearly embody the definition of genocide as enshrined in the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. The ISIS campaign to destroy these religious minorities and decimate their homelands and cultures undoubtedly meets the definition of genocide, and as long as the UN does not recognize it as such, these vulnerable groups remain unprotected and in peril.
We got the report of a Christian Syrian woman who saw “‘Christians being killed and tortured, and . . . children being beheaded in front of their parents'”. She said, “250 children . . . were put in the dough mixer, they were kneaded. The oldest one of them was four-years-old”. ISIS tortured a boy while demanding his father and two others renounce Christianity, before executing all four by crucifixion. Eight Christian women were publically raped and beheaded. There are “mass graves of Christians”.
The victims of ISIS’s genocide deserve the recognition and protection of the international community. It is imperative that the U.N. acknowledge the ISIS campaign for what it is – genocide – end these atrocities, and seek justice for the victims.
While the ECLJ calls for swift and decisive action by the international community to stop the genocide and protect the victims, it also understands that first the U.N. must recognize that the atrocities constitute genocide.
The U.N. council, however, “has remained silent while the Islamic State has continued its barbaric work.”
ACLJ said it was calling on the U.N. “to declare that the atrocities carried out by ISIS against Christians and other religious minorities are genocide. The victims of these acts of genocide desperately need recognition, protection, and support from the international community.”
ACLJ said it previously has written then-U.N. Secretary-General Ban-Ki Moon, the U.N. Office of the Special Adviser, then-U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power and others.

IRS again pressured to hammer U.S. churches
Expressing opinions could revoke tax-exempt status
The atheist Freedom From Religion Foundation is demanding – again – that the Internal Revenue Service revoke the tax-exempt status of churches whose ministers express an opinion about a moral issue or a candidate’s position that is deemed political.
The lawsuit against President Trump and IRS Director John Koskinen says any consequent harm to churches is of no concern.
But several pastors and other organizations that would be affected have filed a motion to have the case dismissed.
That request comes from Charles Moodie, Koua Vang, Patrick Malone and Holy Cross Anglican Church, whose arguments were submitted to the U.S. District Court in Wisconsin by the Becket Fund.
“Plaintiff FFRF asks this court to issue an injunction requiring the IRS to penalize internal church teaching, including the preaching of proposed intervenors Rev. Charlies Moodie, Pastor Koua Vang, and Father Patrick Malone to their church congregations, … But since 1871, the United States Supreme Court has repeatedly confirmed that the Religion Clauses of the First Amendment prevent the government from interfering with internal church affairs,” the new brief explains.
In fact, the demand from FFRF itself would undoubtedly violate the Constitution, the brief contends.
“There is a reason that the IRS has never actually enforced its regulations against internal church speech: because it knows it won’t hold up against a First Amendment defense. Even in the context of public governmental religious speech, courts have been clear that ‘government not seek to define permissible categories of religious speech.'”
FFRF tried the same lawsuit two years ago.
At that time, the case ended up being dismissed voluntarily under circumstances that were less than clear.
The IRS withheld more than 10,000 pages of information about its procedures for investigating churches, and another 2,000 pages that were released under a federal Freedom of Information Act case were blacked out.

The Trump administration has resolved another fight over religion that the Obama administration started against a meatpacking plant in Michigan.
The Obama administration had actually threatened to close down the business of Don Vander Boon because he put an article on a table in a break room inside his own company about marriage being a special relationship between a man and a woman.
After Barack Obama changed his mind about marriage, to deny traditional marriage and start promoting same-sex “marriage,” the official position of the Obama administration came into conflict with the Vander Boons.
Officials wanted to stamp out any opposing opinion, so when a USDA food inspector removed the article, the action came with a threat to remove all USDA inspectors from the premises.
“This was effectively a threat to close the Vander Boons’ business because federal law requires the presence of USDA inspectors for plant operations to continue,” according to officials with the Alliance Defending Freedom, which worked on behalf of West Michigan Beef Co., of Grand Rapids.
The operation is owned by Donald and Ellen Vander Boon, and they employ about four-dozen people.
See a video about the fight:
“The First Amendment guarantees all Americans the freedom to believe and the freedom to express those beliefs without fear of being targeted by the government,” said Legal Counsel Samuel Green of the ADF.
“We commend the Trump administration for making clear that the unconstitutional religious and viewpoint discrimination against the Vander Boons at their own private family business will not be tolerated and for recommitting federal agencies like the Department of Agriculture to respecting the First Amendment freedoms of all Americans.”

If you read the article, the problem was that it was a sign instead of a Christmas decoration, and signs violate the HOA rules.
Ray, are you familiar with the fable of the boy that cried wolf?
