That question was raised last night... Fox News said that it was orchestrated entirely by Obama administration??

Well I wasn't watching Fox last night...what did they say?

Well don't quote me because I didn't take notes or anything. :icon_wink: But the question was raised as to how Bill Clinton was involved. It was compared to Jimmy Carter going on his own blah, blah something about that being privately funded blah blah blah the answer was no this was entirely orchestrated by the White House but they worked behind the curtain to not inflame with regards to current nuclear situation. Sorry I was cooking dinner. I did read an article this morning that was written Tues saying Bill Clinton was involved in a privately funded effort and the White House wasn't commenting.
Re: Dems undermining Obama?
So the whitehouse concocted a secret plan to send the Clintons off to look "detached" but secretly controlled them? Interesting strategy
Re: Dems undermining Obama?
Bill gets to spend quality time alone with two ladies on a private jet? Twist his arm
Re: Dems undermining Obama?
I bet it drums up support for Al Gore's new network. That is what Clinton got in exchange for their release -- good press and press time for his former VP's network. Their release is a good thing but this has nothing to do with Obama being undermined. It has more to do with the interests of some other Democrats.

Yes they did point out the Gore network connection. And there was Gore to greet the arriving plane. Such the caring employer. :icon_roll: Not to detract from whatever entity secured the release of the journalists. I was just offering up the discussion I heard last night that this was done by the White House and not Clinton by his lonesome self. Perhaps he and Gore planned the whole thing and the White House is trying to steal their thunder? I would believe that, too. Politics is a whole lot of headline grabbing and credit stealing.
Re: Dems undermining Obama?
I always suspect the Clintons of being shady to grab power.....it was just an interesting scenario.
Re: Dems undermining Obama?
You can all rest assured that the White House had a heavy hand in what went down in regards to the rescue of the two gals in N. Korea. A heck of a lot of their actions are done behind a black door, so the general world population of the world do not know that they are involved. It's OK for them to 'highly suspect', but can't afford to make one friend mad at the expense of another!!! (not saying N. Korea is a friend, just that the actions taken might make some of our friends unhappy if it were common knowledge that the US sponsored the activity)

It's pretty simple. Who else picks up chicks like Clinton? You send the right man for the job.

Re: Dems undermining Obama?
billy the hero gets prime time coverage, and coattails hilly gets pissed.
“You want me to tell you what my husband thinks?” Clinton responded to a question, posed through a translator, from a university student at a town hall meeting in the capital, Kinshasa. “My husband is not secretary of state. I am. If you want my opinion I’ll tell you my opinion. I’m not going to be channeling my husband.”
