DonW - I Have It on Very Good Authority That Junction City IS FINALLY WILLING....
To play Haynesville in football -
Supposed to be a two year series beginning in Haynesville next year....
Re: DonW - I Have It on Very Good Authority That Junction City IS FINALLY WILLING....
Nope! I hear Haynesville is gonna buy it out and schedule Mississippi State instead.

When you get SEC money ypu can do that!

Haynesville vs JC...THAT should be a good ball game.

I don't hold Arkansas HS football in very high regard...
There is a reason they will not play Homer and Haynesville on a regular basis

With some exceptions like Junction City (and Strong), the power in Arkansas high school ball is mostly on the other side of the state.

I was not impressed with Strong this year. The little charter school my wife teaches at held their own against them at their homecoming (at least for a half). OCS or maybe even Oak Grove would demolish the team I saw play that night.

They were good with Dixon.
I don't know how they are year in and year out. I'm sure there is some other small school or two in south Arkansas that is good in a given year (when I was first in high school Pine Bluff was still a power, and then Watson Chapel and White Hall had some good runs, I guess El Dorado is often good). But generally speaking, the best football programs in the state are in the NW and occasionally in Central AR. So if DFM's mostly comparing Haynesville and Homer to whoever they might try to schedule in South Arkansas, he's not getting a representative sample of AR high school football.

These things can be regional. I've never understood why there is great football in North and South LA, but hardly anything in between.
