Glad to see it on the calendar. Ours is a good regional rivalry.

Glad to see it. I hope we stick to this new scheduling philosophy.

We need to keep Rice, UNT, USM in our OOC G5 rotation.

I was very happy to read this today. This series needs to continue. Best of luck on the field this year Dogs. Will be pulling for you.

Why is it good for us to play them?
Seriously what do we gain?

A series with a geographic and historical rival.
Scheduling isn't done in a vacuum, if it wasn't them it'd be someone else. How is USM (at the very least) not a top 5 option? Who would you rather see?

IMO, this game will be the one I won’t want to miss. Our conference games will be pretty pitiful. I hope all sports can keep scheduling.

ulm and Lafayette rotation. Memphis, UNT, SMU, Rice, etc.. Not sure why our fans get excited about playing a team that ran when we needed them.

Didn't Rice, UNT, and SMU run when we needed them?

You could make a case for the ULX twins. ULL we've played more often. ULM is closer.
I like it when we play UNT, SMU, Rice because they're close, we recruit around there, and there is a little bit of history.
Memphis hasn't been interested in playing us since the 50s. I'd be interested in that, but it's not a rival.
The ducking out on the conference thing is just more fuel to the rivalry. That ought to make us want to beat them more, but you've got to play them to beat them.
And even if you'd rather play all those teams than USM, that would still put them in the top ten schools for a home-and-home.

They didn't run, they moved up several rungs on the ladder.
USM ran, screwed us, and apparently made us like it enough for our admin and many of our fans to want another dose.

So did USM. And, had we had the votes, we would’ve been right there with them.
Besides, you’ve been posting for decades about who’s screwing Tech…those chickens, once again, came home to roost this off-season.
