Wow!
Barbe is usually good. Impressive win.
Good win. Very tough non-district sked y'all have.
Listening to Byrd's radio broadcast, are they paid to pump LSU like that or they just do it volitionally?
Shreveport chigger fans…. :rolleyes4:
Charlie Cavell the main announcer, Christopher Eldredge, co-announcer (Byrd QB about 10-12 years ago) and their sideline reporter, Marty Johnson, all have attended or graduated from LSU. The radio station (AM 1130 with a web address of www.1130thetiger.com) has historically broadcast LSU games, several of the advertisers graduated from BR too and mention their college too.
If anyone on the BBB advertises on their broadcast and graduated from Louisiana Tech, hope you will consider mentioning Louisiana Tech in your ad.
I miss the good old days when Byrd had Dave Nitz calling games
Out of curiosity, who was the last football player from Byrd that signed with LSU?
Byrd defeats Longview 22-15 in a game that just ended. The battle on the border is neat, but midnight high school football is ridiculous
Too many teams. Hope somebody is making money, but I don't see how.
Byrd, Calvary face off in marquee matchup

Quote:
The Thursday night matchup between LSWA Class 5A No. 9 Byrd and LSWA Class 2A No. 3 Calvary has enough elements to make it one of the marquee games annually in Northwest Louisiana despite Yellow Jackets’ domination in the two previous meetings.
It’s not often programs of this caliber meet in a cross-class clash in the third week of the season. The 7 p.m. kickoff at Lee Hedges Stadium will be televised on Fox Sports New Orleans as the New Orleans Saints/LHSAA Game of the Week.
Great.
You've got your own thread
Byrd beats Calvary 49-21 (was 14-14 at half).
Exactly. Just a casual mention of a game coming up on TV. Yet! you deleted it and had to resort to a childish rant about "you've got your own thread." Funny, I didn't see you ranting about the Chevyland mentions. Someone is a huge Tech fan? Great! so why not send them off to one of about 1,000 Tech threads on this forum? Aren't there threads for that? I think so.....
Nope! won't fly. I (and you) know better.
Doesn't change my opinion of Byrd. As I have posted many times I have nothing but respect and admiration for the Byrd football program, the school, and its loyal fan base.
No need for pettiness....
@LukeTScribe: Byrd leads Captain Shreve 14-0 at halftime. Not in points. In first downs. #TimesFNL
@LukeTScribe: Keondre Wudtee is 10-17 for 210 yards and 3 TDs. Parkway leads No. 5 Byrd 20-6 at halftime. #TimesFNL
Wudtee is a Tech commit

Ouch
Tough news for Byrd and Huntington football teams. LHSAA rules both teams ineligible for post-season play, appeal coming Wednesday

Tim Fletcher @FletcherShow 29m29 minutes agoShreveport, LA
schools have 24 hours after being notified of violations to file for appeal.
Tim Fletcher @FletcherShow 29m29 minutes agoShreveport, LA
The violations were self-reported by the schools according to my source

I'm guessing this is going to get really ugly. Byrd largest school in state. Clean reputation thus far. Not going to wave white flag easily

Would be strange coincidence for possibly three schools to suddenly self-report at same time.
I'm thinking a lot of schools don't want to open this can of worms.
@RoyLangIII: Schools can continue to participate in the regular season but are immediately ineligible for postseason pending appeal, more specific ruling
@KSLASports: According to Caddo Parish Public Schools statement, they WILL appeal #LHSAA "unprecedented ruling" & will make its case Wednesday.

Look for Byrd in the playoffs THIS football season... Appeal from Caddo schools worked

Byrd and Southwood fined $1,000 for violations. None for Huntington according to Caddo Parish official Keith Burton.
KSLA News 12 Sports @KSLASports 1m1 minute ago
#LHSAA overturns ruling. No school is banned from post-season play. Byrd and Southwood will pay a fine of $1,000. Huntington owes nothing.

@RoyLangIII: Important to note: schedules of student-athletes in Caddo Parish have been adjusted to comply with the rule currently on the LHSAA books

@LukeTScribe: Byrd holds and that should do it. The Yellow Jackets just need to kneel to seal a 24-16 win and a share of the district crown. #TimesFNL
Evangel led 13-3 at halftime
@FletcherShow: LHSAA Playoff Matchups:
3. Byrd hosts 29. Fontainebleau
@LukeTScribe: Dream scenario for Shreveport/Bossier City is a Parkway-Byrd rematch in the Dome. Maybe not likely, but it could happen.
@LukeTScribe: How good is District 1-5A? Airline went 3-3 with a weak non-district schedule and still earned a home game in the 1st round of the playoffs.
@VoiceofByrd: @LandryWalkerHS beats @cebyrdathletics 47-41 tonight in Shreveport.
