Re: Baseball. Tech Drops 2-1 Decision to Little Rock in 12
Our coach waits too long to pull the starter again. We also ran the bases horribly again. It's a pattern associated with losing.

we lost the game in B9

Agree about the bases. That walk was just so unfortunate.

So when should he have pulled him? You would've pulled him after the 8th when he's been dominant and has less than 90 pitches? Or after the 2 out hbp? Still dominating the opposing team? Just curious as to your logic on this.

This is still the worst base running team in the nation. How do we keep making the same mistakes over and over and over again? It's worse than Little League. Drives me nuts! I listened to most of the game, and we had at least 3 guys picked off in the first few innings today. Why??? Please stop giving away outs! Ruined another gem by Leal.

I just dont understand it. Its a gamble. And its not gamble we can afford in tight games where we arent hitting.

After he hit the guy for sure, but IMO he showed he was no longer "dominant" on the first batter when the count went to 3-1. Pulling him with one out would have probably been best.
The whole "complete game" thing means nothing in wins and losses.

When I scratch out the 1-0 lead in the top of the 9th - I go to Hassler immediately in the bottom of the 9th, that's what he is there for and you want him primed for those situations heading into conference...

In the post game show, I was stunned to hear the coach refer to some Tech batters as being ‘automatic outs’. Unfortunately I agree with the assessment but if that’s truly the case then why are they still batting.

Usually a coach doesn't throw his players under the bus like that... Most of those are players he recruited. Needless to say, that is something he tells his other coaches, not the public.
