I've always maintained that one of the reasons Luke had such a good relationship with Drew Brees in New Orleans is because they had a lot in common. For example, Drew is 38 yrs old and Luke is 36. And both are native Texans who played their high school ball in the state of Texas.
It will be very interesting to see if Luke can now maintain that same kind of relationship with a 24-year old millennial as his starter.
I doubt they "click" on that level but for some reason I think Luke's more likely to actually play in Dallas. Drew didn't like to sit even when he was injured, I imagine the Cowboys will protect Dak's health more proactively.
Happy for Luke.
Actually, he has the best job in all of pro football: back-up QB. Gets paid (big buck$)* to hold a clip board and not has to worry about some 300 lb lunatic defender trying to separate his head from his shoulders.
* Okay, by NFL standards, $250K is not big bucks. But, if he was not standing on the sideline of some NFL team, he might be coaching HS football for $40K per year.
Proud to see him continue to land on his feet and glad he's staying close to home.
