FIU’s Butch Davis told @ActionNetworkHQ he will not return next year. “The administration has been sabotaging the program." FIU not allowed to recruit on road last 2 years, had to use Miss St’s old shoulder pads (because of no $) & uniforms are 9 years old
The hits just keep coming for CUSA.
Any bets on how long FIU will continue as an FBS program or remain a CUSA member for that matter?

This move should already have happened because this program has not done much else the last 3-4 years.
FIU has a $31.5M annual athletic budget. That's about $7M more per year than LA Tech's athletic budget. How is the hell can FIU not "afford" new uniforms and not afford to recruit out of state when they are bringing in $7M more a year than LA Tech??

Agreed. It's as if no one at FIU bothered to pick up the phone to cut a deal with either NIKE or Adidas to at least cover the cost of new uniforms and equipment.Quote:

But I guess it's also proof that despite most evidence pointing the other way, every once in a while even your market can't overcome everything when in comes to conference realignment.
