South Alabama is less than 100 miles from Southern Miss, so S. Alabama might be out due to locational reasons. Arkansas State might claim the Memphis market, but there are still issues with student body size, endowment, and U.S. News Ranking.
Compared to UL-Lafayette, Georgia State has a larger athletics budget, larger endowment, comparable U.S. News Ranking, double the student body size, and a much larger media market than Lafayette could ever boast. Georgia State plugs a huge hole in the southeast and gives C-USA access to the largest metro area in the southeast outside of Miami. To me, Georgia State is the most logical choice for a C-USA spot should a spot open up in the near future.
As far as who Tech supports for entry, ULL, ULM and Ark. St. should never be considered. We shouldn't be looking to elevate the closer regional teams to our conference.

This isn't as good of a geographical fit but Northern Illinois should be considered. I'm not saying definitely invite them but they might be worth a look.

NIU is (assuming no westward push) near the top of my list as a replacement program for the AAC. They'd be a good get for either conference and they're apparently interested in a change.

Boom! Tyler gets it. That's like Home Depot TRYING to get a Lowes to open up across the street from them. It doesn't make a lick of sense.

These guys are able to get a home and home with Memphis. Does Memphis hate us that much or are we just that weak at scheduling?

Re: Georgia State wants to turn Turner Field into football stadium
My question is how full will they be able to get this thing.
As for adding anyone, I don't keep track of budgets and markets, etc, but from the standpoint of quality of the football team, is Georgia State really who we'd want? Wouldn't Georgia Southern be better? Statesboro is no Atlanta, but I'd rather see a quality team than a huge market, tbh. Markets are cool and all, but we've already got SA, DFW, Miami, EP, Houston. Our best teams aren't from the big markets, and I'd rather see C-USA become more competitive on the field.
This all being said, hopefully if/when C-USA needs to add more teams it'll be us they're having to replace :D

I think capacity will only be about 30,000
