Louisiana Tech historically does not play FCS schools very well. Been watching these Dawgs a LONG LONG time, and we rarely do what is "expected" of us.
Me too. I've seen us lay an egg so many times against teams we were supposed to beat. I'll be glad to walk away with a win. I would love for this to be over by halftime, but I'm not counting on it.

Most important thing I learned from the late great Coach Maxie Lambright. The game ain't won til it's won. Respect everyone.

Not sure about other fans, I think Joe Aillet Stadium is a better facility than Independence Stadium. Plus, the environment is much nicer in Ruston. Beautiful college campus vs poverty stricken area.
Re: Someone Has Finally Listened - Southern Univeristy Coming to Ruston in 2015
I'm sure there will be a reminder of last year's NSU game hung all around the athletic complex for at least the week prior to the game. As gut wrenching as that was, maybe it was the catalyst needed for us to actually bring our A game EVERY week, and not treat the yearly FCS game as a tune-up.

I don't think you'll find many here who disagree with the statement "Indy is a completely dump". Plus, we have a brand spankin' new SEZ facility to show off for the season opener.

It makes sense about not wanting to play home games away

I don't hold Shreveport or Independence Stadium in the same disdain as many other posters here. But I still think it only should be a once in while thing against a P5 program.
Baylor, Cal, TAMU (twice), Miami & OkieSt were all great at Indy. Tulsa & UTEP, not so much ...

This is true especially if you want your entire student body there to support the team. A good number can travel to a "neutral" site but not near as many as can just walk across campus.

It's a major accomplishment and nothing to be under appreciated or not notice by the winning coach and those yet to play his team.
I am far from your average fan, Tech football runs in my blood as I am a former bulldog. Trust me my man, I know my X's and O's better than you do. No disrespect to your team, I'm just being honest. If you think this game will be close then I really feel bad for you and the jag fans. That will be one long ride back to BR.

That's a pretty bold statement considering the fact that we've never met.

As the September 5 weekend approaches, many SU loyalists will visit this forum. They will talk smack; they will shuck and jive; and they will anger and rattle you. Let me admonish you though that this will all be in good taste. No harm will be intended at all! We are grateful just to be on the same football field with such a fine university as Louisiana Tech. By the time the gridiron date is over, you will know everything you need to know about SU, and we will know the same about you. Believe it or not, not a lot is known about LA Tech at SU or in Baton Rouge, generally. Some fans, for example, didn't know that Tech was a FBS school. But they know now! Dr.Ray Belton, President of the Southern University System & Chancellor of the Baton Rouge campus, Dr. William Broussard, Athletics Director, and Mr. Dawson Odums, Head Football Coach, will lead a contingent of thousands onto the Louisiana Tech campus as early as Friday, September 4, 2015. You need to be prepared for an onslaught of die-hard visitors. Please be prepared!
Damn. This guy Earle should run for Governor. I would vote for him if I lived in Louisiana.

This is true. When he said Southern's fans didn't know LA Tech was an FBS school, that told me they are not really college football fans. Geeez.
