Yes, it has been obvious their president is corrupt as far as football is concerned. I just don't feel the love for them because of this. We suffered great set backs from our most recent Tech Athletic HOF inductee. We survived. I don't believe UAB was feeling sorry for us during our down years.

UAB recruits buying into Blazers, Bill Clark as head coach
Quote:
The NCAA still has to rule on what players' eligibility would be in 2017, but Clark said their understanding was that players' eligibility clocks "wouldn't tick for two years," but each player would have to get an individual waiver. Basically, if a player would have been a sophomore on the field this fall, the belief is that he'll be a sophomore in 2017.
Quote:
Clark is hoping to add around 14 new players who can enroll next January so the Blazers can have a limited spring practice in 2016. That makes player evaluation even more crucial as UAB tries to work its way to 85 scholarships for the 2017 season.
more than 30 others who reported for a team meeting and workouts at the start of the fall semester

I suppose they can use it for a bowl game too.

That's what I figured - Birmingham Bowl has only had 1 game greatly exceed 45000 - Ole Miss vs. Pitt @ 59,000.
Re: UAB Football Back for 2017
I can't see how they can justify that big of a stadium. Unless they plan on REALLY getting people to the games, it will be mostly empty for home games. Didn't they have one of the lowest attendance averages in FBS? Around 11,000?

They also need a stadium in a better part of town from what I've been told.

It's a stable, working class neighborhood in the central city.
Now I wouldnt walk through there at midnight shouting honkey power. But it's not a "bad" part of town.
