Exactly. 3 errors and a slow pitcher who can't beat the runner to first base killed us early.
I had no problem with the bunt call, but I had a problem with #10 not making contact with the ball. That is his job and the mistake was on him alone. GOT to make contact with the ball.

Funny! Steele said in an interview last week that the USM fans were nice to him. My guess is he ignored their trashy insults and threw a couple of foul balls up the the USM kiddos. How could anybody not like Steele? Classy young man!

Harland didn't break to first until the ball got past Matulia. And even at a full sprint he had no chance to get to the bag in time. Have to expect to cover first to be able to make that play.
Re: 2022 Tournament Thread
UTSA has answered the USM 2 with 3 in the 8th. And the Roadrunners are still batting with 1 out.
Now 9-2. The USM oven timer is on. And some of the home crowd is packing it in.
10-2. And they better check to see if a bomb threat was called in because the evacuation is underway.
Re: 2022 Tournament Thread
Three pitchers haven't pitched for tech if you count Lancaster
Re: 2022 Tournament Thread
I really like how UTSA bats. They must have a very good hitting coach. They do everything right at the plate. Their pitching staff, as noted, has been patched together due to injuries, but I think everyone would agree UTSA is playing the best in this tourney...as of right now. Simple baseball fundamentals.

Yep, I chalked that one up to stage fright. IMO, that was just icing on the cake. The three charged errors were enough to put us deep in the hole.
Re: 2022 Tournament Thread
Heading to the 9th 10-2.
Looking like about a 6:30 start for Tech-ODU.

We agree. They hit it where it is pitched.

That national seed, just left out on a greyhound

Please, no more crap from USM fans about how they fill that stadium. Maybe 50% capacity plus the ones in the outfield.

They don't fill it without help. From Tech fans earlier this year and Ole Miss fans two weeks ago. Sounds familiar doesn't it.
