As the bodies start stacking up against the wall, they would eventually have a hill to climb. Ever seen Starship Troopers? It would be like the ambush scene where Ironside dies where they have killed a number of bugs right at the wall.
Yeah, but if you don't kill them, then they cannot make a hill. Of course that presumes that you do not have to leave the building for anything. Wonder if there is a helopad on the roof? And if you have this house, I am sure you are already fully prepared for the zombie apocalypse. :icon_wink:
If you're the type of person to build a place like this, you're the type that won't be able to resist screwing with the zombies for entertainment, boredom, or revenge.
Somewhat similar to the reinforced concrete house I'm designing for my wife and I. Minus the drawbridge and some other features:laugh:. Mine has a courtyard/garden area in the center but it will be bullet/tornado and maybe even zombie proof! The added 15-20% increased costs at initial build will be offset by power and insurance savings within the first 8 years of ownership. I've been designing the house for over 5 years now and am earnestly shopping for property at this time. It will be very nice and reassuring to watch the weather guys freaking-out during a weather event and all I have to do is drop the shutters and relax with a nice book.
Not really into the whole zombie subculture or zombies in general (in fact it is the only zombie book I have ever read and do not even watch their movies....), but World War Z is extremely well written and interesting. A few weak parts, but mostly a real barn burner. Brooks did a great job of researching and using history to show how things might be if something like this ever occurred.
Little known fact - Max Brooks was invited to speak at the Naval War College (my other alma mater!) on how the book is a metaphore for national security threats. The video is online here:

Armed with a samurai sword, a pistol, night vision goggles, and a map, this guy was able to do what the entire US and world couldn't... Find UBL! He single handedly flushed the Al Qaeda lead out to the open where the Navy Seal team could reach him.
Or at least that's his claim. How is this not a movie already? Someone call Brad Pitt.
