No, but I do find it interesting that Trump removed one of the mental health restrictions on the background checks. I thought we all agreed mentally ill people should not be allowed to acquire guns. And, yes, I know in this case it was our esteemed military that dropped the ball on reporting the criminal conviction.
Sorry but this nd mentally ill sick shooter " had purchased a total of four guns during the past four years, officials said.". This is during mentally challenged Obama's term as President. And yes it appears the Air Force might have screwed up. We shall see.

Back in February.
Again I say, this declared atheist, and evil shooter " had purchased a total of four guns during the past four years, officials said.". This was during Obama's reign of terror.
If there isn't another mentally ill mass murderer then yes. ;) How's that? But unfortunately there will be. This story and "roll back" isn't finished yet. It will be changed soon IMHO.
My understanding of the Obama regulation was that it took away 2A rights for people that "who have been deemed mentally incapable of managing their financial affairs" in regards to Social Security. "The NRA and the American Civil Liberties Union also opposed Obama's rule — the NRA for its restrictions on the Second Amendment, the ACLU for the possibility it would stereotype the mentally ill as violent."
It seems, and the ACLU agreed that the regulation was heavy handed and unfairly stereotyped a group of people. The "roll back" removes the power to restrict constitutional rights from a bureaucrat and leaves it to a judicial system where it can be properly adjudicated.

I thought they had to be receiving a Social Security disability payment ("a crazy check") and be incapable of managing their affairs. I didn't think this applied to the rank and file retiree collecting their EARNED Social Security payment from 30+ years of hard work and taxes.
Personally, I am in favor of this restriction for the crazy check folks, but I am not in favor of doing this via executive order. The president should not be able to deprive anyone of their constitutional rights (the right to bear arms) without going through congress and it passing a Supreme Court ruling.
Just saw this was a bill, so ignore the executive order comment. (edited again....was this an executive order by Obama after all?)
The most concerning point of this is that they were using private, yet publicly held, medical records to determine who gets to keep their constitutional rights. Think about how this could turn out if we go to a single payer system where your medical records are easily accessible by the likes of Lois Lerner, John Gruber or some other government hack. The government is NOT a benign entity, and the bigger it is the less benign it will be.
