OK. I don't know if we recruited the Shreveport kid, but I do know his playing time would've been slim to none this year had he signed with Tech. Our catcher spot was already solidified.

lol
But Wallner is from Minnesota and originally signed with North Dakota. He only ended up at USM because UND cut their baseball program and was later released to play anywhere. Somehow USM...
Oh yeah, I forgot he was a pretty good pitcher, too. Just missed Top 10 in ERA. Let's see if he can save USM and send it to extras.
You are looking at the wrong guy.
I'm talking about Wallner, who started 60 of their 61 games in CF or on the mound and crushed that HR to RCF that DogsWin was talking about.
Wallner...
That freshman is USM's best player. Burdeaux wasn't the best player on his own team, much less the whole conference.
and young top talent that took awhile to put it together.
Wrong thread. I think ULL was playing in their 50th consecutive Sun Belch tourney.
Our coach all but said Griffen would be best for Game 1 because of all Charlotte's lefties. Charlotte's never even seen him before. He also said that our RHP slider specialist is wearing down and...
Wow. Our coach just said Charlotte has a bunch of lefties and switch hitters who hit better from the left. But we don't have any LHP so we are gonna go with Nate in G1. But Nate is wearing down, but...
OOC RPI doesn't matter because it doesn't mean anything. It's irrelevant. It's never referenced.
Why is it listed? Probably to give the sheet balance because RPI, SOS, and OOC SOS are important.
It does NOT matter.
I have NEVER heard anybody ever mention OOC RPI when it comes to NCAA selection... until our coach did it this morning. :rolleyes4:
Non-conference SOS? Yes.
...
That's not what I said. RPI is obviously very important.
It's like you and DFM have your minds made up that an RPI in the 30s will get us an auto bid regardless of everything else because last...
It's not all about RPI. It's about our resume that is seriously lacking NCAA Tournament quality wins and lists getting swept at home by USM.
Nate hasn't started Game 1 of a series all season. And it's a double-elimination tournament. Tech is guaranteed at least 2 games with Nate pitching 1 game regardless of the outcome of the first. Game...
We have to beat USM either way.
And Nate is the only pitcher I have any confidence in getting the job done.
Thus, saving Nate for Game 2 also gives us the best chance to win the tournament,...
No. What are you talking about? I never said we needed to win the whole tourney. You aren't listening.
My whole point has been we likely just need a win against USM to get an at-large bid. Hence,...
We can't win the auto bid with one pitcher, but I think one win over USM may be enough to earn us an at-large bid.
I like our chances with Nate on the bump vs. USM a lot better than winning the...
You wanna go back in time and start Nate this afternoon?
And I'm still fuming about our horrible base-running!
Regardless of the result of the 1st game, our Game 2 will be the most important game of the year whether it's against USM or UTSA. It'll either be a must-win game for our resume or a must-win game to...
I wouldn't say using a pitcher in Game 2 instead of Game 1 in a double elimination tournament is saving him for the unknown.
Our resume really could use a Top 25/50 win right now, and beating USM...
We can't start Nate Game 1. We will likely need a win over USM to get an at-large bid. Gotta hope to win Game 1 and save Nate for USM. That may be our only chance now.
