Re: Lady of the mist vandalism

#TheChalkening went viral on April fool's day and hit over 100 campuses in about 24 hours.

I don't believe that nobody on here is interested in this. They just starting to accept applications for the May show.

    TEDxLouisianaTechUniversity

Can't believe I'm only just finding out about this, but has anyone gone to one of these? TEDx is basically a locally organized TED event and it looks like the next one at Tech is coming up in May. I...

  6. Re: America's New Frontier for Business Opportunity

Sasol is pumping $20 bil into a brand new gas-to-liquid facility in Lake Charles. 7000 jobs. McNeese and Sowela are already busting at the seams trying to train people for it. The Lake Area will not...

Re: Head Above Water- a novel

I don't mind at all, but it is digital only right now. If I do offer print copies down the road, I'll use Amazon's Create Space. It's print-on-demand and requires no money up-front. Doing all the...

Re: Head Above Water- a novel

Yep. I looked for an agent for about 6 months before I figured out that if I build a following and sell a few copies myself first, it might be easier to get represented. It's worked for a few other...

    Re: Rummel 35 Barbe 14

I'm a Barbe alum and was at the game last night. It's disappointing we couldn't get the W, but we have a lot juniors on the team and if we can get past West Monroe again next year, I think we can...
  11. Two engineering manager positions open in Lake Charles

I recruit exclusively in the insurance industry, but my colleague recruits engineers and has been doing a lot of business in Lake Charles lately. I'm from there so, naturally, it piqued my interest....

    Re: My parking ticket

The best kept secret parking spot on campus is a 30 minute zone that can fit two cars in between the band building and A.E. Philips. They were almost always open when I was in school and it always...

    Re: Points Record

It would be so cool for Tech to have those records. Hell of a resume booster for Dykes too though.

  17. Re: we are in SEC's top nonconference games in 2012

Tech missed out big time by not becoming that fun, weird, prankster band of the WAC. The band could have grown into a competitor of Rice's over the last 10 years and added a lot of fun to joining...

    Soap Box: Re: Admissions Department

Maybe things have changed since I was choosing a school way back in '04, but Tech wasn't even on my radar until my dad dragged me up to Ruston for visit. Other than a few letters in the mail, there...

LOL at North LAers being scared of gators. They're not sharks you know. Unless you're a piece of chicken hanging on a wire or a turtle sitting on a log, they're not going to strike at you.

  21. Re: Apparently Sonny D figured out Houston Nutt's system

If it was that clear all along, Nutt deserved to get fired and Tech used it as an advantage. I don't think anyone is trying to make an excuse, I think someone just realized how dumb that play calling...

    Re: Ruston (blue laws)

Totally true. Also, I don't know of many other schools that make you put a semi-permanent sticker on your car. Most have the hanging tags, which make way more sense.
