Don't overlook the fact simply that he is on the committee. Of couse he can't deliberate on WAC teams, but neither can any other conference commissioner on his own teams.

Tech likely won't be in the group of 4 NIT 1-4 seeds to get an opening round bye and then the possibility to host a first round game. A 5-6 seed is more likely for Tech, and that's an opening round...

And the MWC got all of 2 bids...the committee saw through their powder-puff schedules. And that was still one bid too many.
