Re: Coins, Bullion and Legal Tender

I'm pretty sure it doesn't match for pennies or nickels either.

Part of the argument for dropping pennies altogether is that they cost more to make than one cent.

    Re: Transfer Portal 2023

I agree that it's not the portal per se (that's just a way to make the process easier). But it's not just the COVID year, the main issue (that won't go away even when that part washes out) is the one...

    You don't say!

I hate this deal. I know they probably couldn't have done any better and when life gives you conference realignment lemons your options are pretty limited (lemonade is still...

Sticky: Re: 2023 Bulldog Football Schedule

So our big exposure deal for linear tv got us an appearance on ESPNU?

    Hmm.

And the money I guess. It was a bad hand we went in with, you gotta just get what you can get sometimes. Can't be...

Sticky: Re: 2023 Bulldog Football Schedule

    Tuesday night "exposure!"

Just think of all those people flipping channels who will now send their kids and money to Tech. I mean, CBSSN! You can't buy that kind of exposure for the program!

Re: What are you listening to Today?

In typical Willie style, his phrasing is so far behind that I'm not sure you could even see the beat from where he's standing, but (in typical Willie style) it just works like magic.

Re: What are you reading currently?

New book by Nayeri came out and also sounds intriguing. I ordered it and decided to buy a copy of Everything Sad is Untrue (read it from the library last year) for the shelf.

Re: What are you reading currently?

I didn't think it was as good as the Martian (despite the higher stakes) but much more in his wheelhouse than the book that came out in between (which was fine, but a different kind of story).

    Our timekeeping software.

I'm not saying a yellow legal pad and a #2 pencil would be a clearly better system, but. . . it might be worth doing the math. The number of actions it takes just to...

So far we've managed to fend off getting the 7th grader her own phone, which means she listens to my spotify account a lot (on mine). My algorithm is pretty jacked anyway due to my listening habits,...

This probably belongs in the peeve thread, but I knew I had already commented on it here.

Re: What are you reading currently?

Dark Lord of Derkholm was great. Still working on How Music Works, but I am enjoying it. Also started a YA (or maybe Middle Grade) book I got for my middle kid that I didn't originally realize was...

But for this season (and maybe next year) things are looking a...
