Re: QB flips to Tech from Harvard

No. GIA is non-binding, so the student-athlete is still considered a recruitable athlete.

Re: QB flips to Tech from Harvard

Holstein is one of the best that I've ever seen in person. Two summers ago, we went down to STM for a 7-on-7 tournament. I got to stand on the field just a few yards away from Holstein as he was...
  3. Re: How long does it take to hire a defensive coordinator?

So you're saying the consensus of this board was that we'd win 10 games and finish second in the division? I'd love to see the evidence to back that up. That's not the mood I remember from the...
  4. Re: How long does it take to hire a defensive coordinator?

I'm saying in the moment before the suspension we had a chance for a truly historic season, and the suspension cost us that. But if you told any of us at the beginning of the season that we'd win 10...
  5. Re: How long does it take to hire a defensive coordinator?

Did anyone on this board pick us to win 10 games before the season? We had a senior QB returning that none of us had much faith in and a new defensive coordinator who didn't inspire much confidence....
  6. Re: How long does it take to hire a defensive coordinator?

I think recruiting is a big part of this issue. Whoever we hire is out recruiting for his current job, most likely. It's one of the things that I don't like about college football. We probably won't...

    Re: Louisiana Community Christian

"Too many colleges." We literally don't have a single 2-year college in the state that plays football. Not one. So I'd say we have too few in that area. This isn't a new FBS or FCS university. It's a...

    Re: Louisiana Community Christian

"doing or allowing the same stupid thing over and over again"

You do realize this is literally a new private JUCO, which we don't have in Louisiana, creating a new football program, which doesn't...
  9. Re: La Tech OC Todd Fitch Leaving for Vanderbilt?

I'm not sure we could afford this guy (he made $300K this past year), but it might be worth a shot.
  10. Re: La Tech OC Todd Fitch Leaving for Vanderbilt?

He wanted an opportunity when Skip was originally hired. He didn't get it. I wouldn't say he had any hard feelings. They had no previous connection, and apparently Skip didn't think he had done...
  11. Re: Robertson Named FWAA First Team All-America - latechsports.com

I get being disappointed when we lose a great player. It's understandable. But in Amik's case, he never hid the fact that this was his plan. It's the reason he came to Tech. He turned down a...

Re: LA Tech Heads to Starkville to Face Mississippi State

I know Paul wasn't very developed offensively as a freshman, but he did lead the nation in rebounding. Saying any freshman is better than him is really saying something.

    Re: New Orleans....vs USL

This game couldn't sell out The Joe or Cajun Field, but you think it would sell out the Dome? Pass.
  14. Re: Biggest Improvement is between week 1 and week 2

For the most part, coaches hire people that they know and trust. I would argue this extends to almost any field, but coaching is especially insular. This is not something that is a Skip Holtz problem.
  15. Re: Biggest Improvement is between week 1 and week 2

I agree with this much more than any argument that we don't have enough QBs on the roster.
  16. Re: Biggest Improvement is between week 1 and week 2

How many QBs are we supposed to have? We have Smith, Allen, Elliot and Thomsen all on scholarship. In today's world of quick transfers, you just don't carry 5 or more scholarship QBs anymore.

    Re: Suspensions

Dude, I know you're a smart guy. You graduated from Tech. You've been extremely successful. I don't understand why you aren't getting this. Drug suspensions aren't reported. Divinity voluntarily left...

You're showing your ignorance, buddy. There are plenty of people who have heard of Michael Divinity. He was a potential first-day pick who came back for his senior season. He was LSU's fourth-leading...

Michael, I'm really not trying to be disrespectful, but I don't have the time to do this research for you. You have the Internet. It's called Google. There are tons of guys who get suspended for...

Stop being an idiot. Our guys weren't suspended for smoking pot. They were suspended for a "violation of team rules." Do you want links to stories of athletes all over the country who are suspended...

    Re: Suspensions

There are numerous guys who get suspended for violating team rules every single week. A lot of those are drug violations. It's just not information that gets out publicly unless it's one of the best...

    Re: Suspensions

One of LSU's starting linebackers left the program because he couldn't stop smoking weed and failed too many tests. So, yes, it happens at other programs, including LSU.
  24. Re: Insulting Frustrating Disrespectful to Us

Name me one school that releases public information about drug-test violations and suspensions. This stuff is always kept in house.

    Re: 10/26 @UTEP Game

But who are you criticizing? Is it the players? Do you know what the game plan was? Maybe the game plan was to play a conservative defense because UTEP's offense had shown a penchant for beating...
