No, every play by play and color man will use it if he does well. So will Grambling's beat writer if he chooses to write a story on one of our games.
That's bank
Has to be ULLLLLLL now. Right?;)
"slow" walk ons at Tech rarely play. History proves it.
He never got an offer from Tech. He would have taken it. He really wanted to come to Tech, but I don't blame him for his fear of falling into the Holtz WMHS group who are there only to help team GPA...
Smith is done. He was way over rated.
If nobody else is recruiting them and we think we want them we won't waste a scholarship offer when we can offer them a roster spot as a walk on.
Yes, PD thinks 6-6 with a wuss sked is just great.
Boxer said "many" guys had walked on and became starters under Holtz.
I said not many.
I did not say they didn't play.
Scott was not a starter for most of this year. That makes my point...
Some of those either didn't play or barely played. There are many more who lacked "speed". We really gonna count Linck as a Holtz find?
3 in five years is not many. Who are Blankenship and Lewis?
I know of several who walked on, served their time, but never saw the field. Those had great GPAs for the team, but never had a chance...
not many under Holtz
We always seem to have an extra scholarship for an extra punter who is not very good or an extra kicker who is not very good.
..or maybe just reach out to him and ask him try to walk on. It does not have to be a "preferred walk on offer".
Pretty sure he is a LB in HS. His stats are not very impressive.
As of last week,
No scholarship offer.
No walk on offer at all.
Yes, he would still get the football scholarship benefits along with others he earns. I doubt it is about money. If it is a preferred walk on offer, Tech is putting itself in the same place as one...
You think the player knows? Players normally let people know what the offer actually is.
FWIW, a preferred walk on is a "guaranteed" roster spot w/no scholarship in year one. We do it often...
I asked a question because I don't know if we actually have offered a scholarship or a preferred walk on. There is a huge difference. Why? No twitter talk about the offer. Isn't that the...

A scholarship offer from Ell Aye Tech or a preferred walk on offer?
Probably as a preferred walk on. That's what Holtz likes to do with "slow guys" who make great grades. He then red shirts them, gives them a 'ship in years 2 or 3, but never plays them.
Slow seems to be one of the new code words.
Remember Santos? He was horrible AND flunked out as a grad transfer.
