That was some fun football.
Despite an initial negative reaction, I'm not really that opposed to this move if it's what the student-athletes wanted. I am glad they retained Lady Techsters for WBB, though.
I’m not sure how I feel about this one. I like the idea of speeding up the game, but the first down clock stoppage made a lot of comebacks and near comebacks very exciting over the years!
...
Well, selfishly this is exciting. Let’s hope we can put a team together!
Great photos as always, @Dawgpix. Next time there's 200 people in the stands you should send out a form beforehand for us to request photos of our soggy selves in the stands.
On a more...
The fact that this contract will earn us almost double the old contract is a huge win in my book given the state of C-USA. Mid-week games are terrible for those of us out of town, but it's time to...
There are some pretty good/winnable matchups in there. Hopefully we won't do a 2-8 as a conference, which also seems very possible looking at those matchups.
So it's SFA game week.
What do we know about the Lumberjacks? Other than they are 1-1, squeaking out a come-from-behind win against Alcorn State and losing pretty badly to Jacksonville State. And...
I'm somewhat surprised they didn't pull a USC/Kiffin and leave him in Dublin.
I'll be honest -- that's more than I expected with what I've seen out of the conference offices in the past year (recent Dallas Baptist news notwithstanding). Does anyone know/recall the average for...
You could at least keep your optimism through the end of spring training. C'mon!
I selfishly hope he comes back when he meets the new staff, but I don't blame him for taking this step. I'm very glad he is exploring without slamming the door shut.

That makes you more optimistic than me on this venture.
I think that's the key, and I haven't heard anything resembling support from them on this one.
Changing subjects briefly...
Has there been any more word on Cumbie's new salary or contract? I really like what Kiffin's new incentive-laden contract looks like at Ole Miss.
...
Well aware of that. I assume they 'misappropriated' some of their votes in the AP originally. 11 votes would not have affected their final standing.
They must have "fixed the glitch," because we're not showing up any more -- and I guess this means they must have meant ULafayette.
From ncaa.com:
I count about 30+ wins and an undefeated team (and two one loss teams) in that list. Everyone is over .500. If I were their AD (or whoever scheduled that) I'd keep an eye out for tacks in the parking...
All the wishes were directed at us -- as in "good luck with him!" Night and day. Of course, results on the field will tell the true story, but I don't see how you can be upset with anything about...
I don't know, they might be able to get a good trade out of the deal, too. I think Jose Ramirez would do well at roller derby.
J.D. is not listed on the depth chart. Did I miss something on his diagnosis?
That was a great listen. I'd love to see CC on our sidelines again as a coach someday soon. Of course, I enjoyed most of TF's time as well.
Looks like he knows how to pick winners:

Pleasant surprise -- 10+ wins
Better than expected/good -- 8-9 wins
Expected -- 7 wins
Disappointing -- =<6 wins
I like the way you think! Hopefully we're talking with the Jags staff about their TE scouting strategy.
