Actually - those games would have meant the same - if we can pick up road wins at UAB/MTSU. Rice/UAB cancel each other out in RPI terms - maybe not on the court.

I'd say because of the proximity to alumni bases.
We DO NOT play @ RICE or UNT this year, we play UAB/MTSU home/away instead.
This could be bad for the standings, but good for RPI.
