Looks like just one. Southern Miss needs someone to act. The bit about the TV contract negotiations is the more surprising news. Didn't know they were able to make progress on that yet.

Hmmm. Having looked it up, Gladchuk's comments are more supportive than I remember. You might be right. Army is going to be a tough sell, though. They've been in this conference before, plus or minus...
Assuming, of course, that Navy doesn't become the fourth school to leave before joining. I haven't heard much from them one way or the other. Last I heard, it was Gladchuck (their AD, our former AD,...
I'm honestly not sure where UH stands. I'd think that we wouldn't be big on the idea, especially when there are better candidates around. On the other hand, we play them year in and year out anyway...
The more I read about UMass, the more I hope we take a pass period. I think Tulsa and USM are the best options at the moment, but then I want LaTech and Old Dominion. I am hoping the mentions of Rice...
From a link provided elsewhere by Dawg06:
The influx of new members is to offset the rapid loss of Conference USA teams to the Big East, who will add six Conference USA schools over the next two...
Why is 11 impossible for basketball. The Big Ten did it for years. Not that I think they would. Just curious.
Tulsa would almost certainly prefer the Big East, particularly as long as SMU ...
I want to say you're wrong, but you did call Tulane.
Which is kind of my point. The megaconference was based in large part on existing membership in Conference USA at the time. Not because Marshall was necessarily seen as a more desirable inclusion....
I don't think you can gleam too much from who was included in the 28-team and 32-team megaconference. if you were in the Big East, Conference USA, or MWC at the time, you were in the conference. So...
I can think of no reason as to why Tulane should have the influence to blackball anybody.
(On Rice... who knows? I would not think that it is something UH or SMU should want, and UH/SMU are likely...
I hope you're wrong about the others, 06, but I think youre wrong about ECU.
UTEP will as likely as not get an invite in the unlikely event that talks with SDSU break down. Or if UH goes without SMU or BYU reconsiders and UH doesn't,, also unlikely (but not impossible).
UTEP is unlikely, but they could get in basically by having a solid relationship with the right schools. (I know it was common knowledge around here that Conference USA wanted to boot UTEP....
Who is number 14?
