with that said, blood on the tracks IS dylan's best. i love that album, but i skip one song almost every time i listen to it.

the line they stole is the only good line from either song (even though it doesn't make any sense).

no, but i can hear her singing it in my mind. imaginary lucinda's version is better than dylan's, but it still sucks.

i think i actually broke the implicit rules with both of these.
1. idiot wind, as far as i know, was never a big hit (if every song counted, the list would be full of songs nobody has ever heard of)...

i'm a huge fan of both petty and dylan, but i've got two for the list:

petty -- leave virginia(r) alone (maybe rod stewart ruined it, but i think it still would have stunk with...
