    Re: On campus today

It really goes back to the oil bust. Over about a 4 year period in the mid 80s the physical plant staffs of every school in the state were cut more than 75%. They were never restaffed. At many...

    Re: On campus today

I should have included Robinson in my original list. It was completely renovated in the 80s. It opened in 1940, the same year Bogard, Tolliver and Howard Auditorium opened.

About 99% of our alumni base completely agrees with you. The new IESB seems to be a blend of modern and historic with its brick and columns. But sandwiched between it and Bogard is Tech Pointe,...

    Re: On campus today

I don't think there are any plans at the present time to tear down Adams, Aswell, or Dudley - all WPA dorms that were renovated in the 80s.

And it's also worth mentioning that the original...

Dr. Guice also mentioned that there were 4 "complexes" of dorms under construction at the moment that would open this year. A total of 11 "complexes" would eventually all be open by the end of next...

    Re: On campus today

Just to follow-up on this and ask a question to anyone who may know. At 130,000 square feet this building would be bigger than Bogard and Carson-Taylor combined. The plan is to renovate Bogard when...

Tech Green is on page 32 of the plan. I spoke to a number of people about the plan last September. Several told me the concept of Tech Green was going to be scrapped. Others said it may end up...

For those of you who haven't been back to campus in a while you can always "tour" the campus by using the Google Street View. The latest is from June, 2016.

The plan for that site was a parking garage with access from both sides - entrances on Tech drive on the lowest level and access to the road on the other side from a higher level. Not sure if that's...

The engineering building was not part of the bond package, as it's not a revenue producing facility. As I understand it, the state appropriated the money for it several years ago. In addition, Tech...

It's not state taxpayer money that will be used for the dorms. Revenue bonds were floated to both pay for the dorms and refinance the remaining outstanding debt on the student housing built in the...

Those dorms will all be gone in a couple of years. I know it's not soon enough for the kids living in them now, but there is a plan in place to move on from them.
