Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN

Yeah, if they can't figure out a way to give passenger trains priority and make fewer stops, they have no hope of really attracting most people. Pity. Good trains are easy travel. Loved taking the...

Most of the QTs I've seen have at least one set of pumps for trucks, but that's a pretty small space to put much there, especially since they usually have quite a few regular pumps.

So the new gas station in front of the library—is that a QT?

Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN

There is a Buc-ees in Temple where I live. I go there about 4-5 times a year. I like the place, it’s just not convenient for a convenience store. OTOH, we often stop while traveling because it’s...

I20 is what I mean. They seem to go for about 2 hours between stores unless it’s a big city like Houston. I think that would leave room for a place around Meridian.

I'm fine with Buc-cee's moving into Ruston, but they really need to get somewhere in mid-Mississippi. They better not be going to say that Ruston and East Birmingham are as close as they need to be...

QT is a good addition. Nicer gas stations are few and far between in LA and MS. Wish Buc-cee’s would move in somewhere around Vicksburg

Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN

Chuy's strategy outside of Texas has been big cities. I'd be really surprised to see them in Ruston (I don't even know of a Texas city Ruston's size that has one)

Sadly, I remember when Johnny's was excellent pizza. Never been sure what changed -- ownership, management, cost was too high to make the pizzas they were making -- but they really dropped off a...

I'd put them pretty much at the bottom of the sandwich store market. Others like them, of course, but I think their bread is really bland. I'd pick pretty much any sandwich store (including Subway)...

Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN

OK, so why has this website started asking me if I want to "leave this page" every time I go to leave a thread or post something in response? Is this a feature? Is there a purpose to it other than...

Well, if I'm going to buy an overpriced hamburger, I thought Cheeburger was at least better than 5 Guys. Both are ridiculously overpriced, though. Braum's and In-and-Out are both better for half...

I tell people in Texas all the time that Whataburger is Spanish for "too much mustard".

Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN

My impression of Whataburger from here in C. Texas is that they are pretty much always slow. Not as bad as you're describing, but it just takes 2-3 people in line to really slow things down. It's...
