To me, Temple would be the obvous choice. But then there have been a lot of obvious choices that were not made over the past year or so...

the BE already kicked out Temple once and they now have the best of the non-BCS world with MAC football (where they can win 5-7 games a season) and the tough A10 basketball league.

i'd like to see them in CUSA to get that Philly market.

According to an unnamed source of mine, Navy has not played every year of its existence as an independent. They had a few years in CUSA.

Worth noting that Navy being added to the Big East instantly raises the buyout for each team to $10M from $5M.

The MWC won't take Utah State unless the merger attempt fails. They will take UTEP because CUSA wants to "unload" UTEP and the MWC is willing to "play ball" in that regard in order to accomplish the merger (which is being driven primarily by Thompson, the MWC commissioner).

I just wish that everybody would relax concerning this topic. There are much better days ahead for Tech football & athletics. We just need to keep supporting & they need to keep winning both academically & on the field. While nobody can predict what CUSA or Mtn West will do, there are options out there for a football program with our name recognition and continued winning. We might have to get a little creative, but I just don't see us ever participating in the belch.
