This was posted on here a long time ago, and it's inaccurate. We are not a dry parish.
The website is called Accredited "ONLINE" College. A website with listing of online colleges. Why are they reviewing real colleges?
Yes this has been posted before. It's just internet garbage.
there's another website says we're one of the coolest college towns...which one you gonna trust??
What is your point? Yes we do offer classes/degree on the interweb, but we're not an online college. I don't get why a website that focus on "online" colleges (ex Phoenix online) needs to review a college town's atmosphere? Isn't the point of online college is to get your degree in the convenience of your own home. Why would he/she care about ranking a college town?
I don't care about what it says, because I love Ruston *shrug*. Struck me as funny that a good number of those places are pretty significant engineering schools (Rose-Hulman, Tech, Baylor).
Whoever wrote this obviously did no research anyway.
I will give you Grambling, but a nice little college town is just 4 miles away.
To the PIT!
The same perception that goes with the degree you got from going to a classroom everyday is the same perception the person completing their degree online gets. If the school sucks, the degree will be seen to suck too. If the school is good, the degree will be seen to be good. It matters for those in-classroom and online for their school to have a good reputation. It is not simply a matter of getting a degree "in the convenience of your own home."
Just as legitimate as blog from accreditedonlinecolleges.com; The Bleacher Report says Ruston is one of the coolest college towns.. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/795531-college-football-ranking-the-31-coolest-college-towns/page/2
I know it's BS, just thought it was funny.
This site wants physical campuses to seem as bad as possible to encourage people to take online courses. Those are some pretty slanted viewpoints. I'm an Aggie that won't benefit by helping Baylor and I can tell you Waco isn't as bad as the site claims. I doubt the others are either.
That's pretty pathetic.
