You know when you watch the weather and the guys says the record temp for this date is 99F and it occurred in say, 1964.
Well, it seems the 1960's and the 1880's have the most record highs for NW Louisiana. I bet, w/o knowing, we would find that those decades also had some unusual solar activity.
As for record lows, I couldn't find any particular decade(s) with a disproportionate number. Record lows are spread fairly evenly. There, however, been a cluster of record lows recently. Since 1970, the years with the most, and just barely, are 1977, 1981, 1996, 2002, 2004, 2012, and already 2014, with 4 months left.
