Anyone else notice how mild the temps have been this spring, at least in Louisiana? Of all the years for us to actually have Spring, I’m glad it was this year.

Crazy weather...today it will reach 100F in eastern Colorado...Tuesday they will get their first snowfall of the season. The snow is not expected to stick given the surface temps, but air temps will plummet and the snow will fall. Speaking of fall...come on! My favorite time of the year!

We are supposed to be entering a mini ice age soon because of being in a solar minimum activity period. Supposed to be about 30 years but who knows if this is right.

The planet is still recovering from the last mini-ice age, the one that ended about 1850, after 500 years of extreme cooling. The most intense period was 1650-1715. Since that time, 170 years, the Earth has been gradually warming which of course is the next cycle when an ice age ends....duh! (the "duh" is not aimed at you).

FWIW, NASA says there is no impending mini-ice age, just a regular 11-year cycle of lower sun activity. Even if we enter a Grand Solar Minimum, which is reduced solar activity for decades, NASA claims good ole man-made global warming has offset the adverse effects. During the last mini-ice age many tens of thousands died, starved due to lower food production. But now, the good ole Chevy 350 8-cylinder, double-barrel carburetor, like the one I had in my 1973 Impala, has saved the world!!! A simple "thank you" will suffice.

Did global warming/climate change make New Orleans sink, too? That is one powerful force!

Not exactly. The deltaic subsidence is very real, but unfortunately not very well understood or studied.

Sea level rise ain’t gonna help.

Couple or three days after the Mississippi River finally gets bored of the Old River Control Structure. A legitimate American Achilles’ Heel.
