maybe so. doesn't seem like it's anywhere near as quick as they want you to believe. if it's not anthropogenic, does it make sense to spend trillions of dollars on reducing carbon emissions rather than spending it on preparing our infrastructures to handle the changes?
We know anthropogenic emissions contribute to rising CO2 levels. There are several positive indicators for this, and the most compelling to me is to the increasing concentration of CO2 with the 13C isotope.
Increasing concentrations of methane (our love of beef and O&G production) is also a major contributor to climate change.
The number of skeptics on the issue is approaching zero.
it has been academic and political suicide to come out as a climate change skeptic for at least 25 years. what did you expect to be the result of that kind of undue pressure on the people doing research and setting policy? also, the big oil companies have figured out how to profit from the government climate change boondoggle, so there are no more powerful entities left to support/protect dissenters.
full disclosure: my company derives almost all of its business from the climate change government subsidy and private investment boondoggles in the us and around the world.
Why haven't all you wackos gone 100% off the grid, living like pioneers and all vegan too, since cows are so evil?
Side note: the goofball Bill Gates said cows emit more dangerous gasses than cars to. Someone challenged him to seal himself up in a large box with a running car, and the other guy would do the same with a cow, and let's see who emerges the next day. So far Gates has not taken him up on the challenge.
But, back to the bigger picture. Serious question, since you wackos are so convinced all our problems are caused by man, specifically fossil fuels, why haven't all of you completely, totally stopped KILLING THE PLANET!? You say the use of FF is destroying the planet yet you keep doing it! Stop now! You say "the number of skeptics on the issue is approaching zero." That is what YOU said Goosey. Well, I am more than skeptical, I think it is stupid. So...if only a few of us skeptics continue the use of FF, drive our cars and trucks, burn natural gas to heat our homes, surely such few of us can't KILL THE PLANET while the best of you billions of enlightened folks are 100% green.
All you wackos need to put your money where your mouth is. STOP the use of ALL fossil fuels, directly and indirectly. So, nope! can't use an EV since it has to be recharged with the use of FF.
Okay...go ahead. Or, STFU!!!
This is where the rubber meets the road for all man made climate change believers. No more travel by any means other than on foot or horse drawn buggy that is 100% wood that you made with your own hands using tools hewn from rocks. Have to eat 100% of your meals at home because eating out contributes to killing the planet. No more advanced medicine or visiting fancy doctors offices. Too much stuff made using technology that had FF in the process somewhere. Live in a mud hut and hope you can survive without any modern conveniences. No computer, no phone, no clothes made by any means other than you shearing sheep and making it yourself.
If it’s that important, then lead the way.
Just as a reminder...
I support the use of alternative energy where it is practical, be that solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal....whatever! If it makes sense, and that must include economic sense, fine, do it! But, stop insulting us with the nonsense.
BTW, I am curious about all the "climate experts" that post here. What are your credentials? Why should anyone listen to you and lend credence to what you post? Anyone wish to start? College degrees? Other training/seminars? Practical experience?
How about you, Goosey? Tell us about your credentials in climate science.
You guys are making a strawman argument.
It isn’t about fossil fuels OR renewables.
The debate is how much of today’s resources do we drive towards pushing the shift in the energy market towards renewables given the harm that fossil fuels cause to the climate.
Republicans abandoned their seat at the table of this debate by making the debate about denialism.
Purchasing offsets does nothing. They should cut their own emissions while demanding that everyone else do it.
