Uniforms for 2012

Yeah, we should definitely throw in white helmets and/or a cool alternate uniform this season. We have to capitalize on what we've got going this year. We can't just be the same old club year after year (like 08 bowl win to 09 season). Let's do something different. Let's look bad ass. A lot of people view Tech as boring, lower level D1 ball. Let's do something different for a change. Our brand isn't "blue with shoulder stripes". 99% of the people in this country don't know what kind of uni we have.

Some of you are clueless about marketing. Some of you probably think McDonald's should lose their golden arches, ya know, "throw in" something else. Maybe a white pyramid! Or a black obelisk. That way their customers scooting along an interstate are sure to know they are at the next exit.

I apologize or this message, however I have been unable to find info. Yesterday I was driving on the Clearwater fl to Tampa bridge (hwy 60) around 2pm when a white suv or van passed on my left on the back was a large LOGO of the state of Louisiana, it was blue and white and it had a dog imposed on the logo. It also had a website that I did not have time to read, except I think it was americandawg.net or americandog.net. Is this one of our persons? Again I apologize for the interruption.

Hate to play with you about trival matters . . . . didja know McDonald's is removing all red from their branding and on their properties and easing the use of the arches? More earth tones and less fast-food look.

Here is the solution: Whomever will donate enough money to immediately build the south endzone project, remodel the remaining stadium, and guarantee us the conference of our choosing, can pick the new uniforms..............BUT JUST FOR ONE GAME!

Definitely like the idea of replacing one of the state T's on the side of the helmet with 22 for the opening game, the rest of the year a black 22 on the back of the helmets above the state flag would be nice, but thursday night opening game national tv do something special for TD's family in his honor.

Matt Lange's "Tech-state-22" logo might fit nicely on one side for that game. I'm sure SD and his equipment guys have something in mind.

That's why I asked what I asked earlier...

How often do we have to replace helmets? I'm told that teams send them back to the manufacturer on a regular basis to be inspected. The manufacturer then either makes necessary repairs or takes the helmet out of use. I'd hoped one of the equipment guys might chime in.

I guess Jerry Jones is clueless about marketing? Call him many things, but one thing he gets better than anyone is marketing and every year he breaks out a new uniform on Thankgiving, just in time for Christmas season. Now it seems like everyone is doing it, even many high schools.

But he is the owner of the highest valued franchise in pro sports. Like I said, he is a lot of things (or isn't a lot of things) but a bad business man is not one of them.

Not to hijack the thread, but as a cowboys fan I would love him to step down and just handle the business side. IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!
