Sim is basically wanting to limit the pitch count on all the pitchers right now to about 70 per outing...

Hoping this will make for a healthier staff by the time conference rolls around

Sounds logical. Probably a good thing.

I don't buy the "bullpen needs experience" argument. Neither Carlisle nor Doss needs experience IMO.

I just don't like unnecessarily burning pitchers on Friday nights. Carlisle will be unavailable tomorrow leaving us only 2 LHPs. It probably doesn't matter, but it might limit our situational pitching opportunities later in the weekend.

BTW Jeb threw 92 pitches tonight. They are on a 90-pitch count. I didn't realize he threw that many.

I wasn't really keeping count, but I thought he was WELL over 70 before he was pulled.
