These bands are what middle school girls listen to.. and on top of that they are washed up. It'll still attract a lot of the dorm crowd, though.

Black Keys would do great in Ruston. So would any indie band or rap artist with a few hits.

Hell, my fraternity got a better artist to play at a party than UB did for this big event.

I've been saying that for quite a few years now. I'm starting to look at the spring concert and the super bowl halftime show the same way. "Oh man this is finally the year they'll redeem themse.... oh. Nevermind then."

I like concerts, I like traveling, and I like traveling to concerts. Just once though, I'd like to look forward to another spring concert.

Looking at what ULM spent on Ludacris in 2010, it was $80,000. They increased fees from $7.25 to $25.

I think this is a pretty good step up from the last couple years. Chevelle was really good though.

Why couldn't the UB partner with Rabb's and bring in a big country artist (if that's what's popular with the Students)...they seem to have some connections to big names there. I think Tracy Lawrence may be coming to Rabb's in the near future, and I know CK4.1 went to see Luke Bryan there, not long ago.

My how times have changed. When I was on UB in the late '70's we did some good shows...several times a year. ZZ Top, Seals and Crofts, ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) NGDB (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), The Spinners, Lynard Skynard, Ronnie Milsap...to name a few. They were all on the charts and hot groups in their day. Seals and Crofts cost the most back then at $30,000.

I assume big acts are charging a lot more these days, probably over $100k plus a percentage of the ticket profit.
