    The Announcement on ESPN

Did anyone see this documentary last night?

For those who didnt see it, it was another fantastic ESPN documentary on the November 1991 announcement from Magic Johnson about contracting HIV.

It was a fantastic watch and I definitely recommend it.

Talking about going from the King of L.A. to toxic waste in a heartbeat...

I mean from him going from the guy everyone wanted to be with/around, to no one wanting to touch him or even be near him.

Gotcha. I had forgotten about Karl's role in that. Sounds like he's come around, though. There was a lot of ignorance and intolerance back then.

    Yeah. Lots of that.

But, can you blame em? No one really knew what it was, how you get it, how it spreads, etc...

I was thinking that, too as I watched it last night. Those had to be scary times for anyone around someone HIV positive.

That young girl crying because she was being shunned was absolutely heartbreaking.

Did Magic have access to the best medicine and doctors for HIV? Surprised it never turned into AIDS.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone did a wonderful "piece" on that.

Nope. He said he has been taking all the same medicines that everyone else does. He says his is just blessed and lucky.
